Wine for Thought

Hi, I'm Veronique Raskin and I am the founder & CEO of The Organic Wine Company. My blog is mostly about organic wine & self-development, as well as anything else that interests and inspires me!

Other Avenues – Humor, Ethics & Wine!

Other Avenues is a completely worker-owned cooperative which has been in operation since 1974. Workers manage the business democratically by making business decisions using the consensus model.

They are some of my favorite people ever. I’ve worked with this store for more than 25 years. They are dedicated to the green-movement, hard-working & honest. But more than anything else : they have kept their sense of humor. They are a real pleasure to deal with.

They carry just about all of our items. I’m guessing about 95% of their wines are organic, which is far better than your typical health food store.

Brennan,  the wine buyer has been my old pal – for some ten years i have looked forward to our monthly interactions about wines and things organic and things about life. Just love that  guy. Recently I took my staff out there for them to taste our most recent vintages. It was a fun experience and we took a bunch of pictures and bought a lot of food too. Brennan has now passed the wine baton to Chris, an equally great guy.

— Keep up the good work !
